The Porsche Panamera is scheduled to receive its first facelift for the 2013 model year. Test vehicles have been spotted by our spies over the past few months, but these latest spy shots confirm the model will receive a redesigned rear end.
Unfortunately we don't get to see much of the changes. A temporary makeshift bumper looks to have been grafted on to the rear, so we'll have to patiently wait to take a peak at final styling changes. However, the German sportscar brand aren't well known for massive redesigns on their models, generally favouring evolution rather than revolution.
The front end remains the same as we have seen in previous test vehicles. Large black panels hide some minor modifications to the headlights and the front fascia closely resembles the new Porsche 911 (991).
The range of engines is unlikely to change, although Porsche engineers will probably tweak a few minor details for improved performance and fuel economy figures.

Top Speed Rendering: 2013 Porsche 918 Spyder
Article file under http://www.topspeed.com/
Porsche unveiled the 918 Spyder Concept at the 2010 Geneva Motor Show, followed by the 918 RSR Racing Lab at the 2011 Detroit Auto Show. Both concepts will be used as base versions for the 918 Spyder production and racing vehicles scheduled to arrive in 2013.

The production version 918 Spyder was officially confirmed for an end of 2013 launch with the first deliveries beginning in early 2014. Porsche will build only 918 units and will price each unit at $845,000 on the US market.
The Porsche 918 Spyder Concept is powered by a 500 HP 3.4 liter V8, along with a pair of electric motors producing 109 horsepower each. But for the production version, this engine will be replaced with an engine featuring a larger displacement of 4.6 liter based on the RS Spyder LMP2 race car. This engine will deliver a total of 550 HP and will be combined with three electric motors that will increase the total output to an impressive 720 HP.

2013 Porsche 998 911
Article file under http://www.topspeed.com/
The 911 is the most successful model in Porsche’s history. It started its long history back in 1963 and since then Porsche has offered five distinct generations: 911 classic, 964 Series, 993 Series, 996 Series, and 997 Series. Moreover, the sixth one is already under intense testings and will make its official debut in 2011 at the Frankfurt Motor Show.
It may be a little unorthodox for Porsche to be bringing out a new generation 911 despite the fact they just revealed a facelift version, but the requests keep changing and Porsche must answer the call of duty. Their latest target is improving both fuel consumption and CO2 emissions.
The sixth generation 911, or the 998, will be a completely new vehicle, even though everyone will recognize it as a 911 model. Shortly after the launch of the 998 911, Porsche will also be releasing the Turbo, GT2, and GT3 in 2012.

Gemaballa releases the Mistrale based on the Porsche Panamera
Article file under http://www.topspeed.com/
The German tuning firm Gemballa has been moodifying Porsches since the early 1980s. They currently have a customization program for almost all of the sports car maker’s models: like the Avalanche based on the 997 Carrera, the Tornado and GT Aero versions of the Cayenne SUV as well as the almighty Mirage GT based on the Carrera GT super car. Well today they have added one more name to the mix, Mistrale and it is based on the automaker’s latest four door sensation, the Panamera.
Gemballa goes ahead and practically redesigns the entire exterior of the Panamera in order to create a much more aggressive looking sports sedan filled with all sorts of scoops and other aerodynamic upgrades. The kit includes a redesigned front bumper complete with integrated LED driving lights, hood taken directly from their Cayenne styling department with a pair of long teardrop shaped vents on either side of the bulge, however the tail of the Panaemera is one place where the Gemballa design team spent plenty of time, they not only incorporated an all new rear diffuser into the mix, but also changed the location of the exhaust to exit out through the rear bumper, much like the Carerra GT.
Rounding out the appearance package are a set of 5 spoke alloy wheels which not only improves the looks of the car but also make room for a little extra rubber making this particular Panamera stick to the road even better than the factory version

Latest Porsche Cayenne by Mansory
Article file under http://www.topspeed.com
Swiss tuners Mansory, the Porsche specialists, have just developed a complete upgrade package for the Cayenne. Although the body kit won’t transform your Porsche into a Chopster, the upgraded bumpers and other body panels will make it look pretty mean. Mansory also upgrades the suspension and the engine, the latter now produces 600 HP.

2011 Porsche Cayenne S Hybrid First Drive
Article file under http://www.edmunds.com

One or the Other
For the most part, Porsche's approach to the hybrid is a straightforward parallel system, though it's more like that in the new Honda Insight than the more sophisticated technology of the Ford Fusion Hybrid and Toyota Prius. The Porsche system differs from Honda's IMA arrangement in that a clutch between the engine and the electric motor allows the V6's crankshaft to be stopped. (The Honda system instead reduces pumping losses by using a VTEC motor to shut the valves while the crankshaft continues to turn.) In any case, stuck between the Porsche's supercharged, 333-horsepower, direct-injection 3.0-liter V6 engine and the eight-speed automatic transmission is a three-phase synchronous electric motor rated at 38 kilowatts (52 hp).
When both the electric and internal combustion engines are working together, there's up to 374 hp available for acceleration. Under deceleration or braking, the electric motor acts as an alternator and feeds juice to charge the 240-cell nickel-metal hydride battery array that's nestled behind the rear axle where the spare tire would be stowed in a conventional Cayenne.
The all-wheel-drive Cayenne S Hybrid has 84 hp more than the base-model Cayenne with its 3.6-liter V6. It has just 11 hp less than the Cayenne S with its 385-hp 4.8-liter V8. Of course this output is still some way from the 405-hp Cayenne GTS, 500-hp Cayenne Turbo and the somewhat insane 550-hp Cayenne Turbo S.

Porsche prototypes caught testing by Google Streetview
Article file under http://www.topspeed.com/cars/car-news/
porsche-prototypes-caught-testing-by-google-streetview-ar68710.html
Who knew Google could do car spy photography? As it turns out, Google’s Streetview had the jump on the 2009 Porsche Boxster, Cayman, 911 Targa, and 911 Turbo. These cars were out doing high altitude testing out in Colorado.

This little gem was discovered after the debut of all the models (except the 911 Turbo which we expect at the Detroit Auto Show), but its still very funny.

2009 New Porsche Cayman

2009 Porsche Cayman S Sport: Porsche Gives the Cayman S Superstar Treatment
Though the Porsche Cayman S finds its self dead in the center of Porsche's lineup as far as price point, the Porsche Cayman S is number one on the Porsche list for many auto enthusiasts, due to its mid-engine layout allowing for a more neutral driving experience. While perhaps not as capable as 911 models in the hands of the best driver, for the rest of us the Cayman S feels more balanced and less like it could lose its tail off the edge of a canyon at any second.
With the limited edition 2009 Porsche Cayman S Sport, Porsche wants to go after the die-hard motorist who might pass right over the Cayman. The Porsche Cayman S Sport is available in the searing Orange and Green hues from the Porche 911 GT3 RS, as well as several other colors.
Both the interior and exterior have subtle "Sport" touches to distinguish the Cayman S Sport from other Porsche Cayman models. Striking black multi-spoke alloy wheels and unique side mirrors and inlets distinguish the 2009 Porsche Cayman S Sport, as if the body-color-on-black side graphic didn't send the message.
The subtle but meaningful enhancements to the 2009 Porsche Cayman S Sport are not simply skin deep, though. The sweet flat-6 3.4 liter Boxer engine gets a modest bump to 303 horsepower with revised engine tuning, and the car has been lowered slightly. All the performance options that can be purchased with the Cayman S come standard on the limited edition Porsche Cayman S Sport, not limited to the inclusion of Porsche's new Active Suspension Management program, which should provide this mid-engined driver's dream with even greater cornering abilities.
Overall the 2009 Porsche Cayman S Sport looks to be a successful edition that should appeal to Porsche's more hardcore set. "911 territory" be damned, we would like to see the Cayman get the power the composed chassis deserves, but if even the 2009 Cayman S Sport is not enough for you, there are many quality aftermarket Cayman tuners who will gladly take your wallets so that your mid-engined Porsche dream car will go faster than you will ever need it to.

TechArt GTstreet - One of the most potent street-legal machines ever.
By Matt DeLorenzo, Photos by John Lamm
Article file under http://autos.yahoo.com/auto-shows/
geneva_auto_show_2008/470/TechArt-GTstreet

Aftermarket tuners, especially German ones, simply love the Porsche 911 Turbo. TechArt is no different, turning its considerable talents to Zuffenhausen’s 997 edition of the 911 Turbo to create one of the most potent street-legal machines ever.

The GTstreet edition turns up the boost on a pair of BorgWarner Variable Turbine Geometry (VTG) turbochargers to add an extra 150 bhp, extracting a total of 630 bhp and 605 lb.-ft. of torque from Porsche’s 3.6-liter flat 6 engine.
This massive infusion of power produces some stunning performance figures. According to TechArt, the GTstreet is capable of 0-62 mph acceleration of just 3.2 seconds and a top speed of 214 mph. In just 10.9 seconds, the car can reach 124 mph.
In addition to the engine modifications, the GTstreet is equipped with carbon- ceramic brakes with 6-piston front and 4-piston rear calipers. The all-wheel-drive system with its factory installed stability-control system is retained.
Extensive wind-tunnel testing resulted in a striking body design. The GTstreet has larger front openings, a front splitter and lower, wider side rockers that channel air upward into the rear intakes. At the rear is a large wing set at an optimum angle to generate the downforce needed to counteract lift when the car is at top speed.

2009 Porsche Boxster S Design Edition 2
Article file http://www.fast-autos.net/vehicles/Porsche/
2009/Boxster_S_Design_Edition_2/
A comprehensive list of enhancements, led by a more powerful engine and unique visual features, distinguishes the new, limited-edition Boxster S Porsche Design Edition 2 mid-engine sports car.

Porsche will build 500 Boxster S Porsche Design Edition 2, and less than 50 of which – each one with a glove box plaque bearing its number from the exclusive series – will reach U.S. shores. The car will be available through authorized U.S. Porsche dealers this October, and the Boxster S Porsche Design Edition 2 MSRP is $66,900.
A range of standard equipment, beyond the eight-horsepower bump to 303 from the 3.4-Liter engine, further sets these variants apart from the standard Porsche Boxster S.
Spotting the new Boxster S Porsche Design Edition 2 will be easy – look for the Carrara White mid-engine Porsche roadster with white finishes on the star-spoke, painted 19-inch SportDesign wheels, side air intakes, center console and instrument dials. Contrasting the white features are grey stripes lengthwise along the body, and black standard leather upholstery and convertible top in stone grey.
Echoing the white tachometer and speedometer is the included Boxster S Porsche Design Edition 2 Chronograph, a men’s wristwatch from the Porsche Design Dashboard Collection designed in conjunction with the car.

By Brian Potter

new-2011-porsche-cayenne-spied-low-riding
Summer time means back to the desert for auto manufacturers, as they get the chance to bake their cars in the searing American desert heat.

All the way from Porsche Cars North American headquarters in Georgia, this second generation Cayenne prototype is getting its systems tested, particularly its electronically controlled pneumatic air suspension, as we can see from the photos the Cayenne is riding very low.
With the Porsche Cayenne hybrid expected to arriver in 2009, the new generation will follow in late 2010.
